S-adenosylmethionine for osteoarthritis

S-adenosylmethionine for osteoarthritis?

A recent study published in the journal, BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, compared the efficacy of SAMe to Celexocib for the management of knee osteoarthritis.  The study authors concluded that SAMe was as effective as celexocib for treating patients with this medical condition.

From the study authors:
"CONCLUSION: SAMe has a slower onset of action but is as effective as celecoxib in the management of symptoms of knee osteoarthritis. Longer studies are needed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of SAMe and the optimal dose to be used" (Najm et al, 2004).
